For several years, Ole Mortensen, the owner of Ringkøbing Bygningssnedkeri, has encountered a similar issue every time new roofing work needed to be carried out.
With a desire to improve the workflow for his employees, Ole Mortensen consulted BAMBUS, the Construction Industry’s Safety Bus. “BAMBUS suggested we try TAGVAC from AL-Lift, and from the start, we saw that it was a really good solution for both the employees and the company,” says Ole Mortensen.
TAGVAC is the ideal solution for laying roof panels in an easy and ergonomic way. TAGVAC operates with vacuum pressure, which securely grips the panels, and a control handle easily releases the vacuum lifter once the roof panel is placed.
Because the vacuum lifter is easy and safe to use, roofing with TAGVAC is twice as fast compared to traditional roofing methods. By using TAGVAC, roofers avoid heavy lifting and save time.
Ole Mortensen states: “A roof panel typically weighs around 14 kg, but by using TAGVAC, my employees are spared all the heavy lifting. In the long run, the machine will also ensure good earnings for us because we can achieve more in less time. We can quickly finish one roof and move on to the next job. The machine is easy to use, and in a short time, operators feel comfortable handling it. It doesn’t require much instruction before you are familiar with it and already well into the work.”
With TAGVAC, a working area of 360° is covered; the reach is 3 meters (diameter of 6 meters). The vacuum lifter can be used on all types of telehandlers, with the pallet of roof panels positioned on the telehandler’s pallet fork.
This way, the pallet of roof panels is brought up onto the roof where the work is being done. TAGVAC can handle both B6 and B9 roof panels. The suction cups on the vacuum lifter are mounted in a flexible suspension system that easily adapts to the structure of the panels.
